Greetings from the heart of Nigeria’s soybean fields! We are thrilled to bring you the latest edition of “Soya Insights,” Global GAP Training Paving the Path to International Market Access
In this issue, we shed light on the transformative potential of Global Good Agricultural Practices (Global GAP) training, designed to empower Nigerian soybean producers for international market access.
This capacity building session is part of series of sessions organized by the Department of Commodities and Export in the Federal Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment.
This event was strategically held in Makurdi, Benue State had stakeholders, national executives of soya beans association, growers, processors and marketers association of Nigeria including government agencies like FMITI, FMA&RD; SON; NEPC; NAQS, HC, MoADS, HC, MoC&IDS etc.
The sessions were split into; 1. National Soya beans potential, market opportunities, Soya Seed Planting and Cultivation in line with GGAP
2. Soya farm-gate, Warehouse, Value Addition and Export Chains in line with GGMP
3. Soya beans sourcing, Logistics, Packaging and Labelling in line with GGMP
These insightful sessions were facilitated by the Food Safety Department of RCL Industrial Safety Centre Ltd with series of Q and A sessions for the benefit of all participants.
Overall, the benefit of the capacity building is to align with international best practices in line with the Global Good Agricultural Practices to enhance export of our produce and finished products;
